Kinnarps furniture in new Sky 1 drama
KINNARPS were delighted to support Tiger Aspect when it came to furnishing an office set for their new Sky 1 comedy drama Mount Pleasant, when filming took place in an empty office just across from the Kinnarps Manchester showroom. Various Kinnarps products were used to create a realistic workplace furnished with desks, storage, seating and screens.
MOUNT PLEASANT - which launched last night (Weds 24th Aug) - boasts a distinguished cast that includes some of the best known names in British television drama from the past 30 years. Sally Lindsay (Coronation Street, Phoenix Nights) takes the lead role of Lisa. Her husband Dan is played by Daniel Ryan (Skins, Just William). They are joined by, amongst others, comedy veteran Bobby Ball, Pauline Collins (Upstairs Downstairs, Shirley Valentine), Angela Griffin (Waterloo Road, Hustle), Liza Tarbuck (Linda Green, Extras), Paula Wilcox (Man About The House, A Touch of Frost), Sian Reeves (Cutting It, Emmerdale), Adrian Bower (Teachers), Neil Fitzmaurice (Peepshow), and Owen McDonnell (Single Handed).
Lisa is a real woman in a real marriage living in a real part of Manchester. She has no idea that another woman, Kate (Tarbuck), is making a play for her husband Dan (Ryan). On a daily basis Lisa has to fend off her temptress neighbour Bianca (Reeves), at the same time as toying with her own emotions when sexy singleton Jack (McConnell) arrives in town. Lisa navigates the highs and lows with her best friends – and workmates - Shelley (Griffin) and Denise (newcomer, Ainsley Howard). She also remains a loving daughter to her ever-present parents Sue (Collins) and Barry (Ball).

It’s an incredible cast with Sally Lindsay and Daniel Ryan providing the show’s beating heart with remarkable on-screen chemistry. It’s fantastic to see a real, loving marriage and a leading lady who’s strong, funny and likeable. That’s rare on TV nowadays.”
Sarah Hooper added: “MOUNT PLEASANT is my first own series and it is a huge milestone in my career. Lucy and Stuart at Sky have been brilliantly supportive at every stage, and it’s a total pleasure working with Siobhan and Sophie at Tiger Aspect. It was imperative for me to write something bright and aspirational instead of something too grim up north, and they have all backed this right from the start, which is fantastic.”
