Children design their own classroom.

Skolbyn Hudiksvall won the Future Classrooms competition run by Kinnarps in Sweden during the spring / summer. Fourth and fifth graders had to design their own dream classroom. The winners would see their dreams come true in the form of a built classroom environment, courtesy of Kinnarps.

Class five of Skolbyn Hudiksvall were the lucky winners and their new classroom was ready just in time for the start of school autumn term.
Kinnarps completed the specially designed classroom full of students' ideas and wishes, including rays of beautiful colours, cosy corners and creative spaces. On 22 August at 8:00 it was time for students to experience their new classrooms for the first time. “It was a pleasure to partake in the creation of the exciting new classroom and encourage the children to learn about ergonomics, colour selection and environmental improvements in a creative way, whle the group was working to find solutions and ideas for our winning entry”, says Patrik Melin, a teacher at Skolbyn Hudiksvall.

Kinnarps has been involved in developing modern and effective learning environments for many years and believes that children will like their new classroom… “We have done our utmost to create the right environment and feel that the kids want. It is very exciting to let the children see the new classroom for the first time, said Kinnarps Marketing & Communications Director, Per-Ola Wennefors. “The physical environment plays a role in the quality and what could be more important than improving the environment in our schools”.
